December: Under roof and fully enclosed, interior buildout
is well underway throughout the facility.
Retail Building:

The extensive use of
energy-efficient glass in the public areas of the retail
building creates a contemporary, aesthetically pleasing
effect. The use of glass also will allow natural light to
filter in, which will supplement interior lighting fixtures
and reduce energy consumption.

tire storage and service room (right) are nearing
completion. |

(Above left and center) The complicated
mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems for the retail
sales building have been roughed in. Employee shower-stall
plumbing has been roughed in, and (above right) the main
retail checkout area awaits completion.

In a more reflective moment, this hallway in the retail
building could serve as a metaphor for the long passage
traveled by all who have been involved in the development of
the new Auto Parts City. Look closely and you'll see there
is even a light at the end of it. |

Crusher Building:
In keeping with the promise
of building the 21st Century auto recycling every aspect of
the new Auto Parts City has been overbuilt. So, it is only
fitting the brand name of the Crusher is OverBuilt as well.

in Northern Illinois looks on, while APC's Jay
Brosten, does his usual multitasking via the Nextel.
In fact, as anyone who knows Jay can tell you, there
is no such thing as having a one-on-one conversation
with him. It is always Jay, the person he is talking
to face-to-face and the person on the other end of
the Nextel.

And finally, where do "Cash for Clunkers" vehicles
go to be recycled? Well, a whole bunch of them (more
than this camera lens could capture) have come to
the new Auto Parts City where they await the opening
of the facility sometime in the first part of 2010. |
