Through February 2009: Development Enters 2nd Year. (How Time Flies By When
You're Having Fun.) It was something the Brostens knew going into it: modern development is a complex and exhaustive process. One year after the first bucket of dirt was dug, the world, at least in economic terms is a very different place (scrap and commodity prices have plummeted). However, the Brosten's commitment to build a world-class recycling facility remains as strong as ever.
Just in time to beat the full brunt of winter weather, the concrete footing for the compactor building was poured and wrapped with tarp to allow for even curing. ![]() Meanwhile concrete forms are stationed near the footing waiting to be set. ![]() In what is literally a sign of things to come, the City Auto Sales retail office announces to commuters driving along Washington St., progress is being made. ![]() The Auto Parts City pond has become the symbol of the changing seasons, and in mid-December the fountain pumps mightily to the prevent the pond from completely freezing over. |
